Here is a sneak preview of one of the chapters:
7 Stages to Starting a loveglobal Club/Group in Your School
- Find a place to meet and decide on a time and day to meet each week.
- Find a teacher sponsor and get permission from the principal to start the loveglobal club. There is a sample letter to show your principal online.
- Spread the word (poster sample online), school announcement, memos out to teacher (memo samples online), and share at an assembly…
- Put an ad in the paper (sample press release online). It allows you to let the community know that the club exists and that you’re looking for jobs to do. BE PREPARED for an influx of calls/emails of jobs.
- Send a memo to teachers (sample memo online) about the loveglobal club. This will allow you to spread the word about the club in the school and get jobs and job ideas from around your school.
- Take the jobs that have come in and put them each on separate sheets of paper with ALL the information listed on the top of the sheet with lines below allowing people to SIGN their name/phone number and e-mail.
- Have your first meeting. Explain the big idea of loveglobal. Let them know about the school’s online cog. Hopefully there are a couple of love projects for people to sign up for, if not that’s okay…create you own project from the list on the website (www.loveglobal.com). Let people know about the next week’s meeting, ask for love project ideas, encourage people to visit the loveglobal ideas section ... meet again the following week…spread the love.
