About Us: It began in 2002 when we both volunteered at newly opened and poorly equipped orphanage outside of Kigali for 100 street or orphaned boys. We felt called to minister to the orphans of the civil war to hopefully prevent them from becoming another army seeking revenge and committing another genocide.

In 2004 we began to help the older boy’s form the same orphanage that had either gone back to the streets or were too old to remain at the orphanage and had not received enough life skills to sustain themselves. So we started a transition house for 15 young men and put them through job training for two years. We are now on our second group of teenage boys and there are 9 of them, they are either in primary, secondary or trade school. Our goal is of course for them to become self sustaining and contributing members of society who are also a positive influence on other youth.

In 2005 we started a small sewing school as 1 donor gave us 6 sewing machines. We allowed widows with young children to attend the school for free in hopes that they would be come self sufficient.  They have now completed and we gave them each a sewing machine to start their own business'.  We also assist some of them with school fees and food as they are trying to become self sufficient.

That same year we also started to assist widow’s families where the mother was either HIV positive or mentally traumatized from the Genocide and they could not work or go to school. We provide for all of their needs as a mercy ministry. We also own property and hope to build a housing complex on it that can improve the standard of living for the families and orphans we assist and so that we do not need to rent housing long term. And so the journey continues...

2 Peter 3: 11b - 12a "What kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and Godly lives as you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming."

  • video of building project site...

Here is a short video that Ezra took of the building project site and the fence being built in Rwanda.  Check out the view we have from our piece of the land of a thousand hills...

  • building of the fence

    building of the fence...

Wow this video was way harder to upload then I thought...  but I am sure it was not nearly as hard as buliding this great fence on the building project land for NRM in Rwanda.  Take a look...

  • Now that is what i call a fence!

Now that is what i call a fence!

The building code for fences in Rwanda is not easy.  You have to build a long lasting and "easy on the eyes" fence in accordance with the new codes for vision 2020 in Rwanda.  I will attempt to post a video if i can figure it out, so you can see more of the fence we are building to protect our building project land.  So exciting!  Ezra had the youth from the Tansition house prayer walk around it this past week and they were so blessed!

Ezra will staying in Rwanda a bit longer to make sure the fence is completed before he leaves.

    Please pray for him!

  • Remember Mutoni?

    Remember Mutoni?

    Remember Mutoni?

You might not remember us telling you about Mutoni, then again you might as hers was a sad story...  She was raped several years ago and the man accused is actually in prison as we paid for a lawyer to assist her after the tragedy occurred.  Her mother is HIV positive but Mutoni is negative.  Even after being raped she is still negative.  Praise the Lord!  We are so proud of her, she is a young woman now in secondary school and doing well.  She needs a sponsor still though even though we have been supportng her for almost 7 years.  Please consider helping us to continue to help her.

Happy New year to you all from Narrow Road Ministries in Canada and in Rwanda!!!!

  • Welcome back

    Welcome back

  • All the "boys"

    all the "boys"

    all the "boys"

We started NRM in Rwanda because we felt a real call to assist male youth and young men who were being somewhat left out of the assistance pouring into the country... as it was for girls and HIV mostly.  But we knew the need to support the "boys" of this country was great, so that they would not turn to violent conflict again, but be leaders in their country.  Here is a picture of all the boys in our programs from young to to young men....

We are proud of them, thanks for helping them with us!!!!

This is Damescene, and he is holding Kevin, one of the children of a single mom with HIV we assist through our mercy program.  But in this post we will talk about Damescene...

Damescene is one of the boys from the original orphanage that we voluntered at 10 years ago!!!!  He has been a part of the Transition house program for the last 5 years!
