Report from an American donor who visited Rwanda!

Report from a donor

This is an excerpt from a report from an American donor Lisa, who has visited us in Rwanda a few times and went again last month and visited the boys house.  This is what she writes:

Rwanda looks like a boom town compared to my last visit in 2007. Cranes are everywhere and construction abounds. Trees that I remember being planted as scrappy little saplings are now towering over the streets in downtown Kigali! Flowers are blooming, buildings are painted and the place is alive. AirTel is a new  phone company that is trying to take over the cell phone market and has painted the entire country with their signature periwinkle blue. It's really pretty. Previously brown mud buildings way out in the bush are now a fresh blue.

Haby, the street boy I found in 2005, then again in 2006, then placed in a home for boys that year, is doing REALLY, REALLY well. He missed us so much, he is now in fifth grade. We spent lots of time with him, talking, playing, taking pictures, traveling around and just enjoying hugging and being together again. We also visited all the guys at the Boys' House where he lives, played with them, made donations, etc. Mona and Ezra Kwizera, now in Canada,  opened that home in 2006 and have been faithful to keep it going ever since.
