ZIMBABWE- where is the church in the overwhelming national prevalence of HIVand AIDS?
I have Just returned from a week with others in church related organizations addressing what is still one of the most pressing situations in our nation –HIV and AIDS- Looking at the different aspects of stigma, prevention, care, treatment very do-able by the church of JESUS CHRIST with little resources..
Then :-Vital Statistics- with a population of 13 m with at least 3.5 m out of the country thus c. 9.5 m in country
Then officially 1 in every 5 or 6 HIV +VE and c. 1.7 m orphans infected or affected by HIVand AIDS
BUT THEN MORE THAN 18,000 CHURCH CONGREGATIONS WITH MORE THAN 8 MILLION ADHERENTS… WHERE IS THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST IN THIS EPIDEMIC?
