“Above all powers, above all kings
Above all nature and all created things
Above all wisdom and all the ways of man
You were here before the world began
Crucified
Laid behind a stone
You lived to die
Rejected and alone
Like a rose
Trampled on the ground
You took the fall
And thought of me
Above all”
My mother bought us a Michael W. Smith CD recently and there are a couple songs on the CD that are always put on repeat and this one is definitely one of them. Sometimes we just sit and listen carefully to the words and try to gather a better understanding of truly how great and amazing our Lord is. “Above all nature and all created things” Whatever is in your life, God is above that. “Above all wisdom and all the ways of man” All the knowledge we have acquired is all through God. This is the same God who sent his son to be crucified, buried and to rise again to save us from our sins. What an amazing God we serve. Our prayer today that is whatever you may be passing through that you remember that God is ABOVE ALL!
This week has settled down a bit as we aren’t in the field every day. The last three weeks have been very busy with field work doing house visits in some of the poorest and most crowded parts of Lusaka and also our feeding program. The final 3 days of house visits Matildah remained at the office as some of the roads are very bad and it can get quite rough driving, we don’t want the baby to be rocked around too much.
In three days of house visits we got lost 3 times trying to find specific people and houses. Usually we ended up getting out of the vehicle and walking around for sometime over an hour asking people if they know the family we are looking for. This is when knowing and understanding Nyanja (the local language) really helps as we can then split up to search faster. Luckily we always ended up finding our family, good thing that Zambia is very community based and everyone always knows each other. In 6 days of house visits we visited almost 35 children getting updates on the kids and families. This is done twice a year. Once in July and once in January, next January let’s pray it is dry, as during the wet season this creates massive problems in navigating through the compounds.
God bless everyone this week and remember that GOD IS ABOVE ALL no matter what! We encourage you to listen to the song from Michael W. Smith “Above All” this week and really listen to the words.
