Sakhawat Maseeh grew up in Islamabad, Pakistan where he now works as a missionary to the people he loves so dearly. As an indigenous missionary, Sakhawat has struggled to find the funds he needs for the overwhelming physical and spiritual needs of his community. Yesterday he shared this urgent message about flash flooding in rural Pakistan:
"Floods in many parts of the country have caused havoc resulting in deaths of six persons in various accidents. Life has been paralysed in Nowshera and Sialkot after low-laying areas were submerged by water... People are facing immense difficulties as water entered homes in many areas. Two persons were carried away by flash flood in Asakhel and destroyed hundreds of homes. Three children died as a wall collapsed after heavy rains in Kotli Satyan area of Rawalpindi..."
"500 families will be supported by food packages. Vulnerable, widows, children and the elderly who are without food and in need of assistance. Please, please, please keep focus on this issue... your one dollar will save many lives in Pakistan."
