We were invited to a BBQ Sat evening hosted by our dear friends Pete and Glenda. Pete is the pastor of Calvary Chapel Richmond and with his wife Glenda they started an award winning outreach program called Hand Up To Hope in Richmond. They feed and minister to the homeless, and addicted. They go way beyond what most do and share God's love with anyone who needs help.
When i walked into the back yard, there sat a man i had known some 10 years ago. We had worked together and were both in active addictions at the time. We spent the evening talking and i had the oppurtunity to share with him what God has done in my life over the past 8 years. He found it hard to believe the changes in my life and the peace i have found in Jesus. His name is Frank and Pete and Glenda are working with him as he is still in active addiction.
All at the BBQ were amazed that we knew each other. I look forward to spending more time with Frank before we leave for Jamaica. Please pray for him and all those that are impacted by the wonderful program called Hand Up To Hope in Richmond.
