Back to School

The After School Club Resumes

The After School Club Resumes

We have started back to school and we are looking forward to working in the grade 4 class this year. Four days a week we will be in the classroom as well as serving breakfast and lunch. Fridays we will be working with the arts and crafts classes.

Our firsrt day was eventful as we were asked to intervene in a situation that makes sense only to the powers that be in the ministry. Brothers who live a mere 10 minute walk from Cave Valley School were seperated, one was sent to Cave Valley and the other was sent to a school some 45minutes away by taxi. These boys come from a very poor family who would not be able to afford the taxi fare to get the one to school. Elsie made a call to the ministry of education and within minutes both were registered at Cave Valley School. We were told the only reason the change was made was because of the work we do in the schools here in Jamaica. So a big thank you to all our supporters for allowing us to make a difference here.

As you can see from the picture the After School Club is back in full swing. These children rush to the mission house to get help with homework, have a snack and just enjoy the safe time they spend here.

God Bless

Frank and Elsie
