Narrow Road Ministries

To assist as many people as possible to find the narrow road that leads to life...

OUR PROJECTS: Transition House:

We support 12 teenage boys who are either orphans or vulnerable children. They all live in a house together.  We provide for all their needs and send them to a private school. It costs $100 to support each boy for a month and that includes everything in the house and in school.

Single mother or Widows Program:

The Ministry sponsors 5 families in the community. Each family is fully supported for their rent, food, school fees, health care, clothing, daily living costs and incidentals. The Ministry is the main source of income and support for these families. Families are encouraged to work towards self sufficiency and contribute to their cost of living as they are able. The goal for the future is to move these families into the new building once it is constructed so they can live in a safe and mutually supportive environment.  To sponser a child in a single mother/widows family is $60/month.

Student Sponsorship/ School fees Program:

We strongly believe that education is essential to enhancing the lives of children and their families in Rwanda and the Ministry sponsors some neighborhood children to go to school.  To sponser a child in the school fees program is $25/ month for an elementary student and $45/ month for secondary student.

Crisis Intervention/Medical Care Program:

Many of the people we work with are victims of trauma having been impacted by the Genocide and its aftermath. Post traumatic stress is ongoing within communities and leaves families vulnerable to stressors and crisis regularly. The Ministry is often called upon to meditate and mitigate these crises and support families in times of need. We also fund the health care of families through medical fees, diagnostics, prescriptions and follow up care. Many of the women whom we support are HIV+ and have symptoms that impact their families and their ability to provide and care for them, so we attempt to assist when ever the need arises and it is feasible for the ministry.

Youth Mentor:

The Youth Mentor position was created in November 2007 to assist the young boys and girls who are sponsored by Narrow Road Ministries to receive support, life skills education, and guidance through spiritual and practical counseling. The mentors offer guidance to the youth in the program and act as a adviser to help guide them into productive and healthy lives and lifestyles through supportive and trusting relationships. They offer comfort and help and encourage the youth to engage in activities that will help to improve their lives.

 RWANDA BUILDING PROJECT: {This is not included in the financial goal.}

The building project is to have permanent housing for the families we assist so that we not longer need to rent houses for them and have them move around as rent increases. It will be located close to the boy's transition house. We are hopeful that we can integrate these programs so that the boys can assist with the building and receive some family support and engagement from the widows or single mothers who will be living there.

ABOUT US:

It began in 2002 when we [Mona Hempelmann Kwizera and Ezra Kwizera] both volunteered at a newly opened and poorly equipped orphanage outside of Kigali for 100 street or orphaned boys. We were not married then but we felt called to minister to the orphans of the civil war to hopefully prevent them from becoming another army seeking revenge and committing another violent conflict or genocide.

In 2004 we began to help the older boy’s from the same orphanage that had either gone back to the streets or were too old to remain at the orphanage and had not received enough life skills to sustain themselves. So we started a transition house and put them through job training for two years. We are now on our second group of teenage boys and there are 9 of them, they are either in primary, secondary or trade school. Our goal is of course for them to become self sustaining and contributing members of society who are also a positive influence on other youth.

In 2005 we also started to assist widow’s families where the mother was either HIV positive or mentally traumatized from the Genocide and they could not work or go to school. We provide for all of their needs as a mercy ministry.

Matt. 7: 13 + 14, "Enter though the narrow gate.... small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life and only a few will find it."

Our Vision is to help as many people as possible find the 'narrow road' partly by improving their standard of living in the developing nation of Rwanda.

    building of the fence

Wow this video was way harder to upload then I thought...  but I am sure it was not nearly as hard as buliding this great fence on the building project land for NRM in Rwanda.  Take a look...

  • Narrow Road Ministries posted

See how they build fences in Rwanda...

The building code for fences in Rwanda is not easy.  You have to build a long lasting and "easy on the eyes" fence in accordance with the new codes for vision 2020 in Rwanda.  I will attempt to post a video if i can figure it out, so you can see more of the fence we are building to protect our building project land.  So exciting!  Ezra had the youth from the Tansition house prayer walk around it this past week and they were so blessed!

Ezra will staying in Rwanda a bit longer to make sure the fence is completed before he leaves.

    Please pray for him!

    Remember Mutoni?

You might not remember us telling you about Mutoni, then again you might as hers was a sad story...  She was raped several years ago and the man accused is actually in prison as we paid for a lawyer to assist her after the tragedy occurred.  Her mother is HIV positive but Mutoni is negative.  Even after being raped she is still negative.  Praise the Lord!  We are so proud of her, she is a young woman now in secondary school and doing well.  She needs a sponsor still though even though we have been supportng her for almost 7 years.  Please consider helping us to continue to help her.

Happy New year to you all from Narrow Road Ministries in Canada and in Rwanda!!!!

    All the "boys"

We started NRM in Rwanda because we felt a real call to assist male youth and young men who were being somewhat left out of the assistance pouring into the country... as it was for girls and HIV mostly.  But we knew the need to support the "boys" of this country was great, so that they would not turn to violent conflict again, but be leaders in their country.  Here is a picture of all the boys in our programs from young to to young men....

We are proud of them, thanks for helping them with us!!!!

This is Damescene, and he is holding Kevin, one of the children of a single mom with HIV we assist through our mercy program.  But in this post we will talk about Damescene...

Damescene is one of the boys from the original orphanage that we voluntered at 10 years ago!!!!  He has been a part of the Transition house program for the last 5 years!

He has now just finished secondary school and will be going to University next year!!!  We are very proud of him and he has become like family to us...

Here is a message from him:

hello, hello, hello, "Noheliziza n'umaka mushya muhire wa'2013" that means merry christmas and happy new year 2013 in kinyarwanda.

I think you are okay, in your country and are our friends. I pray for you every day because of all activities you do in your dally life.

I wish mona and ezra the blessing from God. I want to tell you that I finished with my secondary school and I think I did very well in the National Examination, because I did it with all the strong confidence i have.

I think when the chance comes then I will come to canada to visit, if my dreams came true.

Thanks. God be with you in all activities.

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR.

    Ezra to return to Rwanda

On Nov. 6th Ezra will return to Rwanda for 2 months.  Ezra needs to complete some signifigant tasks for the ministry while he is there since it has been almost 2 years since his last visit.

We need to register the ministry as a national organization, as right now we only have district registration.  He also needs to get a fence built on our land and go over plans for the building project, so that as money is raised we can start the first phase of the building as soon as possible.

He also of course needs to visit all the people in our programs and encourage them and pray with them!  He will also throw a Christmas party for everyone in our programs and hopefully buy them all a new pair of shoes for Christmas.  Flip flops are no longer allowed in public places within the city limits, and that includes even walking on the street.  So we are looking to raise money for the party and for 60 pairs of shoes.

If you would like to give a one time donation to help provide a pair of shoes or buy some drinks for the party, even a small donation will help!  We are looking to raise $1500 for the party and 60 pairs of shoes.

    back to school

As you all know September is back to school time.  But in Rwanda it is the third and final semester, not the first.  And the children and youth pass their grade by writing national exams.  Not on the discretion of their teachers.  So as we hear from those that you sponsor and support many fo the prayer requests are for them to do well at school and pass their exams.  The education system is struggling right now as they have mandated that the language the teachers should teach in is English.  However most of the teachers do not even speak English themselves let alone can teach in it...  So this becomes a struggle for the students as well as the teachers.  Your prayers for your sponsor child as well as the teachers and the educational system are greatly appreciated.

Some of our elementary children that you send to school

As all of you know school starts again soon.  But in Rwanda it is the last term of the year instead of the first.  We will soon be busy buying school supplies, uniforms and books for all the students.  Not all of them have sponsors yet so we cover their costs with one time donations.  If you would like to an extra donation to help us out with covering these costs it would be wonderful!  Thank you to all of you who already donate to our small grass roots attempt to make a difference in some of the lives of Rwandan children and youth!

This is a picture of the 45+ children we help in different ways.  Some have their school fees, supplies and uniforms paid for.  Some also have their rent, food, clothes and household supplies paid for.  They range in age from babies to young men in their early twenties.  Some of them have had more trauma and heartache in their lives then others, but they are all either orphans or vulnerable children in Rwanda.  Thank you to all our donors for helping make their lives better in one way or in many ways!!!!!  May you be blessed for your generosity!

A volunteer to whom we say Thank you!

We would like to say thank you to Jen and Serge, another Canadian girl married to a Rwandan guy, who help us with the finances in Rwanda.  Jen and I were instant friends in Rwanda both being Canadians, and met when Jen was just about to marry Serge.  Ezra and I were already married, and Ezra played at their wedding.  Jen still lives in Kigali and when I left I asked her if she would help us out in managing the finances of Narrow Road.  She and Serge work as missionaries for International Teams Canada, so her work with us is totally volunteer and above and beyond all her existing busyness.  Thanks so much for taking the time to help us JEN!!!!!  We would love to bless their family with a financial gift as soon as we have some "extra" money.

Thanks again Jen and Sege!  We miss you!

    Calling on grandmothers...

The woman in the middle of this photo is Roberta, and she takes care of her own 2 sons who are mentally challenged, her grandson Bizimungu, who i posted a recent pic of in an earlier post, her other grandson [who is looking away in this photo], as well as for her niece and her 2 children.  The one daughter of her niece is on the far right of the photo in front.

This photo of them was taken in 2006 when we first started assisting them.  I will post a more recent photo in my next post so you can see how they have changed...  We pay their rent and buy them food and household supplies and clothes etc.  We also send the three young children to elementary school and pay for all the school supplies and fees.  Two of the children are sponsored, but this is not enough...  we are looking for further assistance for this small but tough grandmother, taking care of more then her share...  Your prayers would be worth more then anything for this struggling family, especially if you are a Grandmother as well and can empathize with Roberta...  thank you for your support in whatever form it might take.

Report from an American donor who visited Rwanda!

This is an excerpt from a report from an American donor Lisa, who has visited us in Rwanda a few times and went again last month and visited the boys house.  This is what she writes:

Rwanda looks like a boom town compared to my last visit in 2007. Cranes are everywhere and construction abounds. Trees that I remember being planted as scrappy little saplings are now towering over the streets in downtown Kigali! Flowers are blooming, buildings are painted and the place is alive. AirTel is a new  phone company that is trying to take over the cell phone market and has painted the entire country with their signature periwinkle blue. It's really pretty. Previously brown mud buildings way out in the bush are now a fresh blue.

Haby, the street boy I found in 2005, then again in 2006, then placed in a home for boys that year, is doing REALLY, REALLY well. He missed us so much, he is now in fifth grade. We spent lots of time with him, talking, playing, taking pictures, traveling around and just enjoying hugging and being together again. We also visited all the guys at the Boys' House where he lives, played with them, made donations, etc. Mona and Ezra Kwizera, now in Canada,  opened that home in 2006 and have been faithful to keep it going ever since.

    Julias

When we started our Work in Rwanda we felt very called to assist teenage boys. With all the emphasis of developmental work being on girls and HIV/AIDS, which is great but, we felt the boys would turn into another army if no one helped them out of poverty, and to receive an education. So even though they were not the norm for a sponsor child, we started the Transition House for teenage boys.
And so here is a prime example of the drive they have and what great things can come if someone gives these young men a chance. Julias, pictured here is 21 years old but in grade 12!!!! Many young men would not even bother finishing school at this age, so we are very proud of him and all our boys who have gone back to school and are years behind but keep pressing on! They are the future of the country and we long to teach them to reach out to others and pass on the Grace that has been given them. Thanks to his sponsors and please consider helping us help them as well by donating to Narrow Road on the Love Global website.

Building project land near Kigali, capital of Rwanda

Narrow Road Ministries owns land [pictured here] in Rwanda near the capitol Kigali.  We plan to build a small apartment building on it to house the widowed families and orphaned teenage boys that we assist.  We currently rent all the houses that our clients live in and they have had to move a few times as a result.  We long to build a more stable dwelling with a better standard of living.  We are going to use a local buidling company to build the project but it is a branch of a Belgium company and managed by a Belgium woman so it is very organized, well run and they build to excellent standards.  However, we have no funds allocated to this project right now and so the process has stopped.  Please consider helping us to further this project or pray with us to raise the money.

One family supported by you through NRM

This is the first family we ever supported in Rwanda, and so the longest as well. Louise is the mother who is HIV positive and has a difficult time raising her children. She has 6 children from 2 different fathers. The first father was killed in the Genocide and the second is not involved with helping to support his children. We usually like to keep families together but since the mother is having such a hard time we have allowed the three girls go to boarding school and the oldest boy just moved into our transition house with the other boys we support. They all stay with the mother during holidays and school breaks but this way she does not need to be responsible for them all the time. The children were asked if this was acceptable to them as well, and they welcomed it.  In light of this, it is more then normal to support these three girls. To sponsor one of them is $100 dollars a month, like the boys in our transition house. And they have no sponsors yet!!! Three children we support to keep families together

Meet three cousins who all live with their Grandmother near Kigali the capitol of Rwanda.  Their mothers have either died or have HIVAIDS and can't support themselves so the Grandmother has taken them all in, and we support them as a family and send the children to school.  If you would like to sponsor one of them please let us know.

A new volunteer at our Transition House

Here is a picture of a new volunteer with Narrow Road.  Her name is Yvonne and she is a Rwandan who was raised in Canada and was living in Surrey.  But she recently decided to move and live in Rwanda.

So for Christmas she gave everyone their Christmas "bonus"  and they had a Holiday party at the Transition house.  Here she is pictured with Damescene one of the boys who lives at the House and is in his final year of Senior Secondary.

Bless you Yvonne, thanks for your help!

Third and final semester of the year completed!

The students sponsored by Narrow Road Ministries did well in their final semester!  33 of the 35 students passed the year and will move on to the next grade in January!  We are very proud of them and will continue to support them into University if that is what they desire.  So your continued support is so appreciated!  As many of them are still in primary school and we have many years ahead of us!

    A break....

I have posted a picture of some of the children in our program that was taken just a few days ago...  I can see how they have grown so much already over the past two years since we moved from Rwanda to Canada.  We are re - building our donor base while we are here and working on becoming our own non profit organization.

Another thing we are working on is our own family, and we are about to add to it!!!!  This Friday I will have a C Section to deliver our second child!  Depending on how things go you might not hear from us for a while, but we will try to keep you updated on anything that happens in Rwanda.

Blessings to you all for your support!

Gideon, his 3 sisters: Mutesi, Mutoni, Odille & friends

Rwanda is in the middle of its rainy season right now but continues to be built up at an amazing pace considering the countries history.  I am informed that they even have digital street lights now!!! They had some troubles with them the first few days as all traffic had green lights!

There is even a movie theatre now and a huge new grocery store in a multi level mall!!!!  Wow!  I thought the construction was moving at an amazing pace when I lived there, but it sounds like in the two years I have been gone it is even more incredible how it is being built up, then it was during the 5 years I was there to see the changes first hand.

As for Narrow Road, we are currently looking for some new housing for the ministry as the landlord has increased the rent of our Transition house and we are hoping to at least find something better for that amount if not also cheaper.  Getting our building project completed will alleviate this problem of having to move around and always be subject to landlords changes.  So for now our budget has increased while we continue to work on getting the building project started and funded.

This Monday our first University student started school!  We are so proud of him.  The rest of the students are in their third and final term of the year.  In January they well enter a new grade.  We still need about 20 sponsors to cover all the children we have been helping over the past 9 years of this ministry we eventually named Narrow Road.  Please contact us if you would like to sponsor a child or even make a one time donation.  And blessings to all those who have helped us and are helping us today!

    Single mother dilema

One of the only conditions we request of the clients in our programs who are not married is to abstain from fornication, as the bible also requests of us as Christians.  They even sign a contract stating this agreement when they enter into our programs, and should they not follow their part of the agreement we have the right to stop supporting them according to the agreement.  Part of the problem is, some of our clients had to join our program because they did not follow this way of thinking and are now single mothers, so this is not easy for them and their Faith in God is still growing.  Another part of the problem is we do not want to punish the children for the mistakes that their mother made.  We would never stop paying for school fees and supplies but know that children also need food in their stomachs in order to learn, and retain what they learn.  So how do you withdraw some support but still make sure the children are getting what they need to thrive?

So here lies more of the dilemma...  one of our single mothers of two, now has a third.  And she hid the pregnancy from us, and she is HIV positive.  She always told our Manager of Daily Operations that she was going to the hospital for her HIV care.  And towards the end of her pregnancy she would never be home when the Manager came to visit.  But now there is a new born in the house...  and we do not want to stop supporting her children but feel there needs to be some repercussion according to the contract, as she is not the first single mother to do this and probably not the last....

    Blessing's story...

Blessing has been in our program since before she was born.  Her mother Janvier came to us when she was a pregnant teenager in 2006 and had been abandoned by the father of the baby and kicked out by the family she was staying with.  She has no family of her own and when the family she was living with found out she became pregnant they kicked her out with nothing but the clothes on her back.  This is when we were introduced to Janvier, and brought her into our program, even though up until then we had been helping teenage boys only.  We could not turn her away.  We found her a place to live and gave her clothes and shoes and prenatal care and hospital care for the delivery.  We were impressed that will all Janvier had been through she still named her baby Blessing....

Unfortunatly Janvier got pregnant again out of wedlock even while under our care, but they are now thriving as a family.  They are in what I unofficially call our 'mercy' program.  Even though we want to help Janvier to become self sufficient, she is HIV positive and uneducated and so it has been difficult for her and not possible at this time.  So we pay for the whole family's rent, food and supllies, and now that her daughter Blessing is 5 years old we want to pay for her to go to school as well.  She is currently in pre school and will start kindergarten in January.  She was born August 20th 2006 and wants to be a teacher when she grows up.  She also tells us that she loves to eat bread...

Please consider sponsoring Blessing for $45 dollars a month and you will be supporting her and her whole family to have a better life and an education!

Kevin the future President of Rwanda?

Kevin needs a sponsor who can dream big with him, because he is about to turn 5 years old but he already wants to be the President of Rwanda!  Right now he is in pre school at the Good Samaritan Primary school.  His mother is a single parent as the father is not supporting her.  He has one other sibling and was born on Oct. 16th, 2006.  For $60 dollars a month you can support Kevin, his mother and sister to have food, clothing and place to live together.  You will also be sending the future potential President to school and covering the costs of fees, all supplies and uniforms etc.  Which are mandatory by the way and you will be kicked out of school if these are not supplied.

    Here is Kevin's message:

"When I finish with my studies I will be President.  I love to eat rice and beans.  And I like to play foot ball."

Please consider supporting the future of Rwanda with us, Kevin has been thriving in our program since he was a baby we do not want to let him down!

The Story of Jean Baptiste Mugisha...

I only know one person who was taking care of me when I was 2 years up to 12 years old and then she died last year and I moved to the Transition house.  They told me that she was my father's sister but I was calling her my grand mother, because she was a very old woman.  I came to the transition house in 2010, before I come in the transition house I was living in Mutara, [a rural area in Rwanda] but my grand mother got very sick, and then they took her to the hospital and she died.

My Date of birth is 06/12/1997.  I am in Grade 4 and the name of my school is Gatenga primary.  I have a mother and father somewhere but I do not know them.

In school I love to study math, english and E.S.T.  I also like to play foot ball with my friends, and I love to eat meat, rice and eggs.  I wish to finish with my studies and when I finish I will be a pilot or Doctor.

Thank you very much for taking care of me. May God bless you all and Mona and Ezra.

Above is how Mugisha, as they call him at the Transition House, tells his story.  He is one of the newest and youngest members of the household.  He needs a sponsor to help us continue to care for him they way we have been the last year as funds are running out.  Please help us find Mugisha a sponosr for $100 a month.  This donation will cover all of his life and school expenses.  The donation is also tax deductible through Global Village!

Please pray for him and the other 11 teenage boys at the house, that they would grow into Men of God who change their nation!

    Exam test scores back!

The school system in Rwanda has exams at the end of every semester that students need to write to see if they passed the semester, and at the end of the year the whole grade.  And we have gotten the results back for the second semester!  All but 4 of our 35 students have passed!  Hallelujah!  The 4 that did not will have to work harder in the third semester in hopes that they will still pass the whole year.

The third and final semester starts next week and as we do not have sponsors for all of the children we assist, we thank those of you who have made one time donations or make non designated donations, as it helps us pay for those fees and supplies to keep all the children we support in school!  So if you are unable to give a monthly donation don't feel like you can not help!  One time donations are just as helpful!

    Visit to Rwanda Successful

A member of our church here in Canada, the Church on Oxford Hill, named Dave stopped in Rwanda while in Africa to check on the Narrow Road Projects.  All his reports were very good and he was very impressed with our manager of daily operations, Grace.  He visited the two children him and his wife sponsor along with many of the other children and families we support.  He was deeply moved by some of the stories and has pledged to assist us with the building project that has been pending for several years.  He now has the same passion to improve the standard of living for these impoverished children and to help even more stuck in poverty or living on the streets.  We are very thankful for this and look forward to more people partnering with us and visiting the work and the country we love.

Thanks Dave for all the good reports and joining in the efforts to make lives in Rwanda better!!!

Damescene needs a Sponsor for $100/month

Jean Damescene goes by Damescene and has known us since 2002 because he is from the original Orphange that Ezra and I volunteered at back in 2002 - 2004.  So he is very special to us and we know him well and are extremly proud of him, we have been supporting him to go to school since 2006.  He is our star pupil, he wants to become a Dr. and he also is an excellent Soccer player and we have high hopes for him.  He is in Grade 11 so we are hoping his sponsor will want to follow him through to University even though his school fees will go up.  Right now $100 dollars a month will support him.  When he goes to University it will go up to about $250 dollars a month.

    Below is what he writes:

My name is NIYOMWIRINGIYE J. Damascene.
I am born in a family of 3 children.  Date of birth 07/06/1991.
I am in secondary school: Sainte marie reine boarding school in Grade: 11.
I live in the transition house when not at boarding school.
    Mother: mukarurangaw, leonira.  Father: none.
In school i study: math, physics, and chemistry.  I am a football player and capitain of the team.
My dreams are to be a football player or Doctor.  I love Arsenal, and I love to eat meat.
Thank you very much to take care of me.
    MAY GOD BLESS YOU.

Damescene also has two younger siblings that we would also like to bring into our programs, at his request as they live with his mother out in the rural areas of Rwanda and she is not able to fully provide for them.  It would be $60 a month each to sponsor his siblings.

    School fees needed too!

    Hello friends of Rwanda,

Several of our children and teens still do not have sponsors, and because of this we are short financially on school fees for those without sponsors.  We still have not finished paying them for Semester 1 which is now ending and soon Semester 2 will start.  We need about $3,000 dollars to cover the rest of school fees and pay for the next semester as well, along with supplies etc...  If you feel like making a one time extra doantion to help us cover school fees it would be greatly appreciated!!!

Or if you have some time, and you could help us to have one or more fundraisors it would be such a blessing to us and to the children assisted by Narrow Road.  We have been struggling personally since Ezra came home from Rwanda at the end of January partly because Mona has had some health concerns, so we have not been able to put in the time we had hoped to raise these funds.

In the photo is Kevin and Prince who have a young single mom but bo father so we house them, provide food for them and clothes etc.  It is $60 per month to sponsor Prince and $45 dollars to sponsor Kevin.  Kevin is cheaper because he is only kindergarten.

Any help and prayers you can give are needed and appreciated!!!!!!!

    Blessings,

    Ezra and Mona

So into a new grade for everyone and for some into new school as they moved onto secondary school.  This is why Ezra wanted to extend his trip, to make sure everyone got into their new school or grade without difficulty and with a parental figure present for their first days....

Everyone of the students are very excited!!!  But on the financial end it cost us a little more then expected to pay for all the school supplies and uniforms and books since so many students went into a new school and needed completly new supplies etc.

Thanks for all your support and prayers, especially please pray for the students to pass this new school year with flying colors!

Ezra will be home later this week, please pray for his safe journey as well.

One of the Widows families we support.

Here is one of the widows we support because she has 7 children.  She went through our sewing school program but requires help with school fees for her children.  Here she is pictured with two of her children, the oldest in the middle is named Christine and she is about to enter her first year of secondary school.

Ezra is staying longer in Rwanda

Ezra has had a hard time getting everything done that he wanted in Rwanda so he is delaying his return by 1 week.  He will be going to all the schols this week and paying all the school fees and buying all the students their books and supplies and getting new uniforms for the year. The new school year starts in January in Rwanda, not in September so everyone is going into a new grade this year!  How exciting!  He is glad he is there for this part of the year and can make all these purchases himself.  He is working on a budget for the whole year with the manager and has found another friend who feels compelled to help us after she saw all our projects.  Her name is Gabby and she is a great asset to our ministry and has an education in accounting!

The boys at the transition house all went to visit family over the new year and they were very happy that we provided them with transportation money so they could go back to the villages where they were from and see any family they still have.

Thank you all for your support and help in making these lives better!

[More pics will follow...  Ezra is still having a hard time with internet connections....]

    Difficulties with technology

I have not been able to get through to Ezra on the phone over Christmas as the phone lines are jammed and too busy.  And he has not been able to get a fast enough internet connection to download video footage or pictures...  Hopefully tomorrow something will work...

Hope you all had a fabulous Christmas!!!  And have a great new years!!!

Ezra and the boys at the Transition House

The boys at the Transition House are excited about one of their Christmas gifts that Ezra is going to give them...  which is to go to the beautiful lake Kivu in the town of Gisenyi with Ezra and stay at a guest house there and play in the lake.  They will leave on friday and go for the weekend.
Ezra will have a concert there as well and the boys will attend.  Ezra will send video footage as soon as he can.  Also to focus on one boy...  Iranzi Emmanuel is doing very well in his first year of secondary school and Ezra is going to reward him by letting him record a song at his Recording Studio as he loves to sing and rap!  Look for a video posting here on the site within a week...
